I had a meeting with Dr. Maxwell that went very well. Dr. Maxwell made my concern about my upcoming surgery disappear. He explained every step of the procedure, both prior to and after the surgery. Dr. Maxwell asked if I had any questions throughout our meeting. He gave me a real positive feeling and I have all the confidence in the world in Dr. Maxwell. My 18 year old has a very rare syndrome called Median Arcuate Ligament Syndrome (MALS). It is not well understood and the only fix is surgery, but there are competing ideas about what constitutes a successful surgery. Added to that, there are not many surgeons in the country who are knowledgeable about this surgery. Those that are usually are vascular surgeons. We were thrilled to find a local doctor who had experience and was up to date on the latest information on this surgery. His bedside manner was fantastic. He's super caring and open to discussion and learning, which is truly appreciated since this is not well understood. We had a successful surgery with him in April of this year. My child was well cared for and followed up with. I would highly recommend him.

I’ve had chronic pain for years. TOS runs in my family and I was referred to him for this to try and explore options for treatment. His front staff said since he didn’t see any indication in the MRI of TOS that he wouldn’t even do an appt to explore options and instead said I should just go back to pain medication and injections or instead of calling it what it is they say “pain management.”
His front staff was rude and not empathetic at all to someone who’s dealing with daily chronic pain day in and at out. If you’re a woman I would not recommend going here unless you want to be gaslit about your symptoms and experience.

Stephen D. Maxwell, M.D., FCCP who in my opinion a wonderful Thoracic surgeon. Follow-up to my bronchial endoscopy that he performed, I just had my pre operative review session where in he was truly thorough with procedural details along with risk and post operative risk recovery expectations in great detail as well. Accordingly, have accepted to go through the procedure in about three weeks. Dr Maxwell is very kind and very good communicator who gives great importance to patient care which is always in forefront of his mind. I very much recommend his services to future patients!
