Stopped here Saturday around 2pm. It was a beautiful spot that was empty when we parked. We stayed around 15 minutes really enjoying the beautiful view. It was so cold but a great natural wakeup from nature.

Probably underwhelming as a destination in and of itself, but 10/10 an amazing stop off the 49. Literally right off the road with a nice wide paved area to park. Gorgeous. Cold.

Oh my gosh, we have passed by here many times and never knew about this lovely spot!

Our friends knew about it and took us here. It is not marked, but plenty of paved parking.

While visiting, several other vehicles stopped and filled water bottles directly from the waterfalls.

Beautiful, wide, safe waterfall, and lots of butterflies. Water flows both to the right and left, and then emptying into the North Yuba River.

Natural air conditioning, and even paved parking for recreational vehicles

Big Springs is located right off of highway 49 between Sierra City and Bassetts. This is a great 10 minute stop to see pure Sierra spring water spilling right out of the hillside and is located right by a large pull out along the road. You can feel the coolness of the water and admire lush greenery and flowers. Well worth a look see.
