I have had such a wonderful experience with Em! I have curly hair but for years I thought it was just wavy and frizzy. When I went to Em earlier this year, I wanted a cut that aligned with my identity. Em not only provided that, but also brought out my curls in a way I never thought possible. As an AFAB person who has struggled with self image issues my whole life, the haircut I received from Em helped to facilitate a confidence in myself and queer identity I didn't know was possible. On top of that, Em is such a lovely, genuine person. I look forward to every time I schedule with them because I know that we'll get into some really engaging conversations. Em has become not just my stylist but also a friend. I've recommended friends to Em who have had great experiences and I will continue to do so 🙂

Had my hair cut by Arlen a couple months ago and the shape continues to grow out well! Arlen was very understanding and gave me what I asked for aka a curly shag. I felt confident in having my curly hair cut, as I've had experiences where stylists don't really understand how to shape hair like mine. I could tell that Arlen had both the skills and experience to really give my hair the right shape, layers and cut.

The actual space is super cute and I felt comfortable the entire time!

It’s been two days since I got my hair cut and colored at Brindley and I am still on hair cloud 9. Not only are they a queer owned salon but they are also inclusive and gender neutral. Brindley really goes out if their way make everyone feel welcome, accepted and loved.

Let’s start with the studio, its absolutely perfect. It may be small and intimate but don’t be fooled by that, what brindley lacks in size, it makes up for in great energy and inclusivity. There isn’t one part of being in brindley that doesn’t automatically make you feel relaxed at at ease. You know you are in good hands.

Now onto the hair… Let me just preface this by telling you that I walked in looking like I just jumped off the SS Hot Mess Express and fought rabid puppies on the way in. I had a very bad dye job and spent about a year trying to grow it out so we could cut as much of it off as possible and this was the week of truth.

Not only did brindley Master Colorist Ligia rise to the challenge but she made the long experience fun. It felt like I was in her chair for a mere 30 minutes not nearly 7 hours. She was clear in explaining what she was doing, clear in setting my expectations, didn’t make me feel bad that my hair was so bad and at the end not only did I leave with a new color I left with a new friend that I can’t wait to see next time (or next week for our yoga date!)

Then Arlen, the owner of brindley stepped in and did my hair cut. Arlen creates what I lovingly refer to as hair art. Hair is his canvas and he is a true artist. In the nearly 10 years he has been cutting my hair I have never not once been disappointed and I assure you that you will not be as well

I had been going to my last hair stylist for close to 10 years so I was nervous finding a new one after moving to the area recently. I stumbled upon brindley hair studio by chance while browsing google maps for a studio. I liked the vibe and decided to make an appointment.

I was able to get an appointment with Em and I am so glad I did. Em was awesome and so great to work with. I gave them the hard task of coming in without knowing exactly what I wanted and Em was able to talk me through a few different ideas that would work with my hair type/face. My hair turned out amazing and I am so happy with it.

The whole team at brindley was great and Im honestly so excited to grow my hair out and see what Em does with it next.

Em is the best! From my first appointment, she was totally able to get the edgy vibe I was going for, and I love my haircut! But beyond her skills, she cares about the details and is very willing to be flexible if I ever wanted the cut to go in a different direction. I can't recommend her enough.

This studio is a VIBE between the decor, vintage clothing racks, and of course all three stylists! I chose Em because I wanted a creative, edgy cut & color and I loved their work on Instagram! Not only did they give me the mullet of my dreams and the most vibrant cherry red color, but also had the sweetest, most welcoming energy. I can’t wait to go back to them again!

I LOVE THIS SALON! I discovered my hair stylist Em by admiring their work on a colleague. Their work is not only creative and precise, it grows out perfectly!! I drive three hours to get to Em at Brindley. The space and the folx are warm and welcoming! Love them!
