I had a terrible experience at Christopher & Company Salon after being approached by Ricardo in a grocery store who invited me to be a hair model for his salon. The salon was teaching a class when I arrived, and his brother cut my hair. Unfortunately, the cut was extremely uneven, and it looked much worse when I saw it at home.

After the hair salon class, Ricardo was very persistent in offering to do my hair coloring at a “special” half-off price—but made it clear I should keep this offer private. I decided to give it a try, but it was a big mistake. I arrived the next day, and Ricardo wasn’t ready. It took him over an hour just to prepare the hair color while I waited. Throughout the session, he was unprofessional, not wearing gloves, getting dye all over my face and hairline, and even grabbing my neck to adjust my head rather than just asking me to move. It made me feel uncomfortable and disrespected.

The whole process took seven hours, and the atmosphere was uncomfortable. Ricardo's hygiene was questionable, and he asked me inappropriate and racially insensitive questions like "Do my parents approve of my hair being blonde?" And "Aren’t my parents strict?". As an Asian person, I found these comments to be particularly hurtful, as they seemed to reflect harmful stereotypes about Asian families. He even asked if I was “smart” as I was leaving, which felt patronizing and out of place in a professional setting that had nothing to do with my hair. He seemed more interested in my personal life than delivering a professional service.

The end result was even worse. My hair came out darker than when I arrived, even though I had asked for bright, natural-looking blonde highlights. He didn’t blend my roots properly, leaving me with harsh, stripey lines. When I asked him to fix it, he reluctantly applied permanent dye, which made my hair look even more off. He also rushed through the blow-drying process, leaving my hair damp and burned my scalp in the process.

I ended up having to go to another salon to fix the mess he made, costing me more time and money. The other stylists who saw my hair said that it was poorly done and that Ricardo lacked the skills to perform proper hair coloring. This entire experience was a nightmare, and I would not recommend Christopher & Company Salon to anyone. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else where you’ll be treated with respect and get the results you deserve.

Love Riccardo!!!! Riccardo has been cutting my hair for several years … I will not have anyone else cut it. Every cut is exactly what I want! Thank you Riccardo you have that special touch!

Robert did a great job. My first time and he does not disappoint. He talks you through his cute and a true artist. He tells you what cut wil look good and he was spot on. Up with the newest techniques and styles. I will be coming back and took a few card to recommend his services.

Wonderful salon. Excellent hair stylists. Sherry is my favorite and does an amazing job every time! From working hard I have earned a receding hair line and I have curly hair... so it's not easy to cut. Sherry has a way of cutting it so that I don't look like I'm balding and should just shave my head. Some say it's rather expensive but you should expect to pay for such high quality and talented stylists. Plenty of parking, coffee/tea, and 1 block away from the beach.

Clean. Pleasant atmosphere. Hairdressers are very skilled and listen to customers. Wonderful cuts walk out on each person. I go to Jay and he has customers for many years because he is that good! And he will teach you what to do with your hair to get fab results at home.
