Had my hair cut by Dirk, and yep, the reviews for this place are on-point! Dirk took a good 5 minutes just talking to me before getting to work, trying to understand what I was wanting to get from my hair as well as providing me with recommendations based on his observations from combing through my hair. A lot of times, barbers and stylists just jump right in without observing what kind of hair you have or if the style you're going for is even possible. What I appreciate about Dirk is that he would tell me if what I was trying to do was even possible. Conversation with Dirk was great, the cut was great, the atmosphere was great, and overall I left a very happy camper!

I was on my way home from lunch and was trying to figure out how I was going to manage to cut my hair, trim my beard and get ready for my friend's wedding the next day without being late to a dinner an hour later, when I saw a "Dirk Hair" sign outside of this building that I always kinda wondered what it was (no signage, totally discreet) -- I've been here 7+ years and walked by it a hundred times and never knew what it was. That's when I realized, this must a sign! What are the odds that I needed a haircut and there's one right on my way home? So I popped my head in, asked if Dirk had time for a quick trim, and I was in business. Not only did I make it to the dinner early (score!), but my hair looked great (double score!) and I was ready for the wedding the next day.

Dirk is a pro, super-talented and all-around nice guy. He did a awesome job with the lines in the back (always an issue when I try to do it myself) and I was really stoked with how the beard turned out. It is always hard for me to know where to set the neckline, but Dirk is an expert and nailed it. He even faded the sideburns in a bit, which I was particularly happy with.

I will definitely be visiting him again soon and would recommend giving him a try -- he's genuinely good at what he does and a super nice guy to boot! Thanks Dirk!!

I've been going to Dirk for years. He is a true professional, a great conversationalist and a generally all-around nice person. He was recommended to me buy a woman who lives in Santa Barbara and actually drives from Santa Barbara to Hollywood because she considers Dirk to be the best person to dye her hair.
