Finally Santa Cruz has a REAL barbershop!!! Most shops in town price gouge because the average person doesn’t know how much a haircut should cost!! $30 and you’re looking better than you ever have before! Guido has been cutting my hair for about 7 years now, he’s is by far the most consistent barber I’ve ever had. He’s never late for appointments, is very clean and considerate and most importantly-he gets the job done right! If you’re looking for the best haircut you’ve ever had, this is definitely the place to go! They can cut all different types of hair and they do amazing scissor work here! Grab a beer at the social, a Tee shirt from Never Scared, some great food from down the street, or just enjoy being in the lovely seabright area while you wait for your appointment! One day this past summer, after going months without a haircut, I was looking for a place to cut my hair. I've been to several barbershops in the Santa Cruz area and was never satisfied. But that day, it was paramount I had a good cut, for I had a date the next day. I hopped on my phone, frantically looking for a trustworthy place. Funny enough, Guido's was not my first selection; it just so happened that the first place I visited was closed, and after a brief moment of panic, I found this place. Of course, I was worried because established barbershops like these run on "appointments only." But the stars must've aligned or something because Francisco had space and asked me to return 2 hours later. The time came, and we're all privy to the daunting nature of having a new set of hands handle your hair, but Francisco seemed very knowledgable of his craft, so that quelled most of my skepticism. Needless to say, I was delighted with his services; he gave me a fantastic taper fade, and the conversation we had and keep on having when I'm on that chair is one of the reasons I go back. In conclusion, masterful service, a homey ambiance, and great people. Shoutout Francisco!

Love the feel of the shop, the barbers all are really cool and easy to chat with, and the shop is definitely one of the cleanest shops I’ve ever been to.

These guys don’t mess around when it comes to perfecting their art. Jesse has got to be the coolest most genuine barber I’ve ever met. He’s extremely consistent and will give you the exact cut you ask for. Some barbers are known to stray from your initial request but Jesse will keep it to a T. 10/10 will continue to be a lifetime customer.

TLDR - Had Jesse as my barber, best barbershop experience I've had in a long time! Whole shop is good vibes, bumpin music and classic east bay + skater aesthetic. Getting appointment was easy, called in the afternoon during business hours and got the cut the next day!
I went for a pretty drastic cut since I had grown my hair out for ~2 years through quarantine and I wanted to return to a basic short cut, but didn't really know what I wanted since it'd been a while. I've also never specified lengths when getting tapers/fades and left it up to fate, which made me a little concerned if I could get the idea across. Jesse quickly talked me through what styles would work for my hair considering my hair type/what styles I liked/how I usually styled my short cuts, we decided on a style, and he left me with a classic cut that's got me set as a customer for as long as I'm in SC!
