I have never felt more welcomed, heard, truly listened to and so well taken care of the way I have at Gypsy and Oak. No other salon has matched their level of care. When I first met Megan (talented owner and stylist at Gypsy and Oak), I was in a rough spot having felt unheard and not listened to by my previous stylist….Megan helped me to trust the hair process again (hair extensions/color/style) because I truly felt heard! Thank you Megan and all the stylists at Gypsy and Oak for having created such an incredibly welcoming and kind environment in your salon!

Chantal is so talented. Her haircuts are so well-crafted that even after weeks, they still look fresh and stylish. I love how they grow out seamlessly, maintaining their shape and volume. The best part?
I can wake up with bedhead, and it still looks cute!
On top of that, her scalp massages are incredibly relaxing. They're honestly the highlight of my visit.
She also makes the whole experience enjoyable, and it's always a fun time chatting with her during appointments. Thanks Chantal!

Megan is an incredible hair stylist and salon owner! She is focused, pays attention to detail, and is reliable. The salon is so cute with great customer service ( delicious hot cider if you want!). I trust her 100% with my hair and IBE extensions -- she is good at listening to concerns and problem solving and making sure Im happy with my hair. She has check in forms that she sends to clients prior to appointments so you can bring up your concerns on there if you're too embarassed to voice them in person and she actually reviews them and bring them up during your appointment ( again the attention to detail!!!). 10/10 recommend

Megan is amazing! Finding a hair salon that understands blonde hair can be a challenge. She’s helped me get through previously damaged hair while keeping the look I love. She prioritizes your hairs health and the color you’re striving for. The vibes in the chair are on point with all the snacks and drinks a girl could need. I wouldn’t go anywhere else

I love Kristina!! I’ve been going to Kristina for over 3 years now; I came in my first time having no experience with ever getting my hair colored and she walked me through the process and now I come back and know when/what to ask for! Whether it be just a tone and cut, or the full highlight, she has always understood what I’ve envisioned (either by showing a Pinterest or Instagram pic or just by describing it to her) and made it into a reality. She also makes you feel so welcome and I love my appointments because I get to chat with her. She’s the best and I will always trust her with my hair!!

Unacceptable experience with Chantal. I found the $100+ haircut and experience not in keeping with what is advertised. She desperately was lacking in professionalism, human decency and skill set: my hair is still visibly uneven and she burned my neck with the flat iron and didn’t apologize or attempt to cool it. She really went for some knowingly tone-deaf, low key ableist and out of pocket comments regarding my medical disability and because I was wearing a mask to protect my health. I chose this Salon initially because it was small with less people and she was supposed to be “experienced” and advertised the services I was looking for. So after taking all that uncomfortable experience in, I decided to cancel my second appointment with her. This cancellation caused THREE DAYS of erratic texts from her while I was on my first well deserved, previously restful vacation, I haven’t had in over two years. My rest and first enjoyable experience in years was ruined because she couldn’t take the time to reread her own texts, look at her scheduling system to solve her own scheduling problem. My cancellation unveiled her inability to be professional, reinforced her true character, how she treats people and what she thinks about her clients. She was unable to take accountability, had an attitude, and when called out about her erratic texting and her own error, then attempted to make digs at me and her former fellow colleague by then referring me to them by saying “we are not a fit” whose Salon has horrible reviews. She had previously shared a dig about them during my appointment. She then went on a tangent said she doesn’t do highlights if I wanted them or anything else and only does Balayages and not what is listed on her profile. It was like she was trying to dictate what I was wanting to do with my hair or not do with it. She then went on about this former colleague and how their new Salon needed business and how they were low key beneath her etc. It made me so uncomfortable. I am unwilling to support Chantal’s ego or her business due to her tone-deaf and ableist views and how she treats her clients and seemingly people in general. This experience was truly disappointing and so very low vibe!

Update Response to Salon Owner: Your response was good until you mentioned, referring me. Why on Earth would you add to the dig of referring me elsewhere to a “lesser quality” and supposedly “more affordable” Salon who has horrible reviews. Come on Do better, be professional. You could have reached out and we could have discussed my experience. You should be more concerned with the low caliber of a stylist you have renting space in your Salon and their unprofessional and ableist behaviors that are giving you a poor review! If she had such a problem with my disability and Mask and it Protecting my Health, she should have canceled my appointment instead of exposing me to her unprofessionalism, low skill set, lack of common decency and ABLEISM.

She is highly knowledgeable and took the time to really understand what I wanted. During my appointment, I was a bit unsure about what I wanted to do, but Megan was patient and asked all the right questions to clarify exactly what I was looking for. And she nailed it!

Megan is so amazing at what she does. With starting your experience before even showing up to the appointment. She gives you an opportunity to send her your inspo photo's and even let her know what kind of "vibe" you want your appointment to have! Also made me the best Coffee with cold oatmilk foam. She made me feel so warm and my hair never looks better.
