Consider this place if you want a stellar cut and a great conversation. You'll walk out of there smiling and looking sharp.

Like many before, I found this place after a cheap salon butchered my hair. I walked into Hermans, and an old guy with a toothpick in his mouth who looked like he could have been in the mafia told me to sit down, and he'd take care of it. Sal fixed my hair and made a loyal customer out of me.

I've returned to Hermans many, many times over the 8 years I lived in San Jose. I've seen several great barbers come and go from that place. Arlene is the best, but the other barbers will never disappoint.

I recommend making an appointment over walking in. Unless, of course, you don't mind waiting a little while. The place is set up like an old-school barber shop, so you're in a room facing each other. Conversations will start, and you won't look at your phone once.

10/10. I wish I could return again, but I've moved away!

Went to a cheap salon spot and they pretty much butchered my "fade". Luckily, Herman's had a slot late in the afternoon after calling. Had a chat with Phil and had a quick consultation with Arlene about salvaging this disaster on my head and had a lot of input and advice about my long hair. They were both lovely to talk to and have been in business for a few years now.

Would absolutely come back again to support them and the hard work they put into these haircuts.

Arlene is awesome. If you was a great haircut for a really good price this is the place to go. She works with you to make sure you're happy and just is very professional all around. She also finishes with the straight razor which is awesome as well. 10 out of 5 stars.

Very very bad haircut. Hair has been cut at different lengths. The guy does not know where I bifurcate my hair when I comb, even after telling, just says that’s not it. Now the haircut looks haphazard, can’t comb. Nobody picks up the call at all. Steer clear of this shop

I've been to many barber shops before, some others are good and some, I don't trust with scissors near my head....

I'm happy to say that Herman's barber shop is perfect for me! I highly recommend this place for others. They have really good affordable rates, you can set an personal appointment. Their styles of men's haircuts is truly amazing, every time I walk out of this barbershop it gives me tons of confidence! I will continue to come here as long as I'm here.

This barbershop is the specimen by which others should model themselves. I was thoroughly satisfied with my experience here. JR and Mike are solid guys that can each give an excellent cut and fade. I'll be scheduling a return soon. Not bad of a wait time.
