My friend Kay and my sister works there. She can make beautiful haircuts for you while you watch Spectrum News. From green tea hair cleaning to hair flair, you'll love your hair they done for you, with a small fee. I love my hair cuts from all of my visits to this salon, including my special day. You should go here if you're ready for some beautiful hair flair! ?

My existing hairstylist had retired. My partner has had Lisa cut his hair for over 35 years. So I trusted his opinion to have Lisa cut, style and highlight my hair. Made an appointment with Lisa for the highlight because I had colored my hair dark. I know it was impossible on the first try but I was hoping for the best. Throughout the process, she was very detailed about what she was doing to my hair and she really took her time on it. Within three hour later as you can see, it turned out amazing and I am very happy .?

I recently switched hairstylist.... I was bored, Barbie introduced me to the new hair trend "hair painting" which was supposed to make the color look more natural and last longer. I am a blonde and maintenance is not my favorite so I was was all in for a new technique. I was THRILLED, I have been able to stretch my appointments longer than I ever have. Hot locks is warm and welcoming, the owner is always there which is nice, and I wouldn't leave my stylist for anyone!

Hot Locks is so festive this holiday season. It is always a pleasure to go in and see my stylist, Barbie! I am always warmly greeted by the staff and laugh with all the ladies throughout my hair transformation. Thank you, Hot Locks & Barbie, for always giving me special attention and making sure I leave your salon feeling like a million bucks. I have been seeing Kay since 2006, moved away and never found anyone like her. Now that I’m back in CA i drive 6 hours to see her!
She really understands my wavy hair and gets my color just right. She doesnt skimp on product quality and really takes her time. Cant find people like her anymore. She will always go the extra mile to make sure im happy. Thank you Kay for always fitting me in especially during the holidays and your friendship over the years! I love coming back here.

This review is for Katie at Hot Locks salon. Beware of a groupon from her. It is a classic bait and switch with a huge upsell. Here is an account of what happened and judge whether you want to risk her groupon.
1. I made an appointment and took time off, but she was a no show. A lady at the salon was very apologetic and said that for some reason, Katie did not look at the computer system. Maybe this was not Katie's fault but whatever the reason I did not receive a call or text about this.
2. The next available appointment was two weeks later, despite my telling them that I had fixed this appointment as I had a special occasion.
3. I texted Katie in between to ask if she would cancel the groupon and I could meet someone else, she did not respond. This is after I sent her multiple texts. I rechecked twice to see that the number was accurate. She claims she did not get it.
4. And this is the worst. I went there for a haircut and brazilian as scheduled. She told me that because my hair is thick and two inches longer than my shoulder it would be a HUNDRED dollars more! I pointed out that I would be first cutting my hair (to just below my ears) and that would not be long anymore. She said my hair was thick anyway and she would still need to charge me at least $75 dollars even if it is short. How thick can my hair be - I am close to 60 years old! I have had three brazilians at other salons and no one has ever said anything about my hair being thick to charge more.
She told me that there was the fine print that gave her the right to decide what to charge looking at the hair and said she gives half the money to groupon and so it costs too much to do a brazilian with the amount left. I wonder why she offered to do a brazilian at a price that does not work for her.
It was also disappointing to see that in all this, Katie did not sound apologetic for anything. She blamed the computer system, the phone, me for not reading the fine print and my hair for being too thick.
We need to stop people from playing this game of enticing people in with a groupon and then charging them double the amount to get the job done. Don't buy her groupon unless you have very thin hair.
