I should have stood up and said something to the lady who did my hair while i was there instead of pretending i liked my hair but getting charged $60 extra to detangle my hair bc of my “hair texture” at an all black hair salon is where yall specialize in black NATURAL, TEXTURED hair is crazy and blaming my hair texture again for not being able to press my roots good enough when ive gotten a silk press before and my hair and roots was FLAT AND OFF THE BONE. I shoudnt have to gaslight myself into thinking my hair looks good nor should i have to go home and touch up my roots bc she doesn’t know how to do her job. It’s time yall start recruiting new ppl💋.

I was blessed to get my hair done by the owner Ann Marie even though the young lady Natasha started the services on my hair, because the original person who was supposed to do my hair Patricia had over booked. I am so happy that she did my hair. I have to be honest Natasha was really rough when detangling my hair. I was so glad when it was over. I have not wore my own hair out in over 20 plus years. Ann Marie was very gentle with me. I really like how she handled my hair. She was also very knowledgeable about hair. Which is important to me. I could tell she really loves what she does. I don't see me going to any other stylist in her salon except for the young lady she is training, but only after she gets a little more in her own in her craft. I got flat twist into a up do. Marie styled my hair exactly how I envisioned it. She told the young lady Natasha a price, but after she left for the day I was charged more. I didn't sweat it but didn't tip her extra, because I felt tried.

The shop is very clean and spacious. And although I waited a long time everyone was nice. It just seems like the stylist that are there now are fairly new. I received many compliments on my hair. I loved how it turned out. My daughter got her hair done. It did not come out like she wanted, the color did not take at all. She got a silk press, but it only lasted a few days. I need to make a appointment to get my hair redone.

If could rate Ann Marie it would be 5 🌟 stars, but due my over all experience I gave it a 3. Like another customer said your experience will be based on the stylist you choose. It is a black owned business owned by a black queen so I will still support and despite my experience I have continued to recommend her salon.

I would like to start by saying I love the experiences I previously had with Marie (such a sweetheart) however my last experience was horrible and I will not return for reasons listed below:

1. I scheduled an appointment with a hair stylist that was not my usual stylist Marie because she was on vacation. I had met this stylist previously when Marie was doing my hair. When I arrived they told me that they scheduled me with someone else because they fired the stylist I scheduled with. No one notified me of this but since I was there and needed my hair done I decided to proceed.

2. The stylist was on person calls the entire time she was doing my hair which I believe lead to number 3.

3. Besides having the heaviest hands for a stylist I ever experienced, I showed her the style I wanted but she produced something else. Half way through I questioned her and she said "oh I parted it wrong". She didn't offer to correct it she just wanted to see what she could make of it. I' m sure this was because she was hungry and was ready to leave (I knew this from her many phone conversations).

4. BEWARE of "prices start at" I have never received a service there where I was charged the "start at price" although my style fit the criteria. I was also given a price when I was there so that I would know what to expect for my next visit and upon my next visit the price was higher! This "starting at" price just gives room to charge what they want!

5. I was rushed to pay while I was under the dryer because they had to close out the register for the day.

I communicated my concerns to the owner Annemarie (you can never talk to a stylist on the phone about the style you want) and expressed that I felt I shouldn't pay full price because of my HORRIBLE experience. She told me that I could have walked out when I got there and saw my stylist had changed and that I did receive a service. She told me that she thought someone called me and that people make mistakes. WHO SAYS THIS TO PAYING CUSTOMERS?! I indicated that I had already made the effort to get there so I decided to give the stylist a chance. Also I did receive "a" service but it was not "the" service I requested.

I can see why there is such a large turnover in employees there, if Annemarie treats her employees like she treats her customers no one will ever want to work there!

Annemarie offered $10.00 off the total price (what an insult) and indicated that if I didn't pay the full price I was no longer welcomed there. No worries, I would rather take my business someone else where they are caring, have better customer service and more professional!

I had a wonderful experience with Natasha B. She was on-time and evaluated my hair thoroughly, recommending services I needed and giving me at-home tips. I got a crochet weave and I especially liked her base braiding style. She didn't rush through it and took her time to ensure the braid pattern would be best for the style I wanted. The salon itself is spacious, clean and very pleasant. Highly recommend!
