I was looking for a new stylist since moving to the desert and it was a struggle finding someone who knows how to cut curly hair. I have known Marlena for over 12 years now. She has been my stylist for almost all of those years. We started off working together at a salon, and we became fast friends! I have seen Marlena develop her talent and hone her skills to a point that makes me so proud of her. I trust her implicitly when it comes to her knowledge and skill. What a wonderful first experience with Marlena! She is a fantastic listener. She took her time and asked me questions and examined my hair to determine the best treatment. *Note while she is a curly hair specialist, all hair types are welcome. I've transitioned from relaxed hair to natural hair and I felt confident in her ability to manage my hair needs. I felt very cared for and I'm so pleased with how light and amazing my hair feels. I've already scheduled my next appointment! She's located in downtown Palm Springs with close and convenient parking.

Very happy with my first appointment! I have thick 3b/3c type curly hair and Marlena gave me a much needed, very refreshing haircut. She explained every step she was going to make first, shared a lot of useful techniques and info on hair care, and gave me exactly what I asked for from my reference pictures. My hair also didn't need any touch-ups with the scissors once I washed and styled it with my usual products. Compared to other curly hair specialists I've been to her prices are inexpensive but the quality is definitely not cheap. I will absolutely be back in the future!

I went to marlena Joy for the first time and left very happy.she really understands curly hair and how to cut it. She is very professional and is very easy to talk to. She did a cut with highlights and when I go out, I get a lot of compliments.
