Martin is the best - he’s so multitalented that you not only get an excellent cut, you are supporting a wonderful artist and human. He’s so smart and funny that it’s such a joy to visit with him each time I need a cut… and honestly I tried several other stylists around LA before finding Martin and he is by far the best. Sometimes you need a haircut, but what you *really* need is some kindness. Thank you Martin for being so kind, gracious, and welcoming to me (especially given I showed up late and in the middle of a panic attack) and also for the great haircut. I really loved that Martin took the time at the beginning to discuss my hair texture (super straight and light) and how to tweak my ideas to make them better work for my situation vs. my inspo photos. I'm so glad I trusted his advice because it turned out so well.

He also took the time to explain which products to use for my hair type, how to apply them, and sent me home with a sample. He was fun and interesting to talk to, and being able to book an evening appointment was an extra bonus. I'll definitely be back!

I've been going to Martin for the last two years now!

And every single time I go, I'm happier and happier with how Martin cuts AND styles my hair. That's because, unlike most of my previous hair stylists, Martin LISTENS.

Before Martin, I've never been comfortable to actually engage with anyone doing my hair, so I honestly didn't know what I was talking about when I first tried to explain the hair style I had in mind to him.

(There's nothing like telling someone with bladed instruments near your head that what they're doing is wrong, only for them to tell you 'I'M NOT DONE YET.')

Before he even starts, Martin will explain what he's doing and ask for what you think before he starts. However, if into the styling you don't like it and tell him, Martin will actually stop, step back, and listen to you to look at your hair to try and understand what you're talking about it. (Did I mention he's also a sculptor, so I'm sure he'll figure out how to shape your hair!)

I've always had the best of times in Martin's chair and it's one of the things I look forward to every month. Every cut, I get more and more comfortable with him and find myself experimenting with different hairstyles and products and styles. I actually dyed my hair for the first time (and definitely not the last) ever with him and I can't be anymore happy with the result. (Picture attached!)

All in all, Martin's a great stylist and an even greater guy.
