We took our son in for his 1st haircut. Overall the total experience could have been better. I scheduled an appointment with one guy and was given a different, less experienced guy. I wasn't exactly over the moon about it, considering I specifically asked for Tim, drove an hour away, and waited 2 days for the appointment. All in all, we did what we could, and my 2 year old had a pretty tough time eating a super hairy lollipop. As he just kept cutting the hair almost directly into his mouth... personally, I have never seen anything like it. And don't get me wrong, he was as nice as he could be, just not the best with kids. We won't be back with the little one unfortunately, sorry... and for $50 + $20 tip (cash only, which was not told to me on the phone), I feel we could have had a much better experience somewhere else.

I had haircuts with these folks 2 years ago, and they did a good job. When I returned today, no-one was wearing a mask. The young fellow who was to cut my hair said, "I don't even have one." As of 12-15-21 masks are required in all indoor settings in California, regardless of vaccination status. I turned to leave, and the more senior barber insisted I pay for the appointment (which I had made by phone 3 hrs. earlier). I declined, and he followed me out of the shop, asking me never to return.

I usually go 3-4 months between cuts, and Juan and Steve have given me my favorite cuts I have ever had, bar none! They can be talkative if your in the mood, or respect quiet if you're not. Both guys are very detailed oriented, and can help you figure out what you want if unsure. they communicate thoroughly to make sure you get the cut that you want. Can't recommend them enough!!

I'm not sure why you'd go anywhere else. If you do it's only because you couldn't walk in and immediately get an appointment. Which is the case sometimes, but shouldn't that be a sign of the quality of haircut you're to receive. I wouldn't take it any other way. Shea and Tim are the best in SB and cut everyone I know. Walk in or call a day before you need your haircut and set up an appointment. You won't be disappointed.

Great customer service, very fair price. They always answer the phone and try to fit you in to your schedule. Multi generational historic place will always be a legacy in Montecito. Nobody is too famous for this classic.

Great haircuts and good conversation. This team is killing it. I don’t want to say miracle workers, but they can make me look good! Book ahead though, they rarely have an empty seat!

Good young cool guys, easy conversation, good haircut for me, 70 year old, but apparently also for young men in their 20s. Pretty pricey...$40, vs my usual at Fantastic Sam's, $18.
