I’m completely at a lost for words. I scheduled an appointment yesterday at 3:30 pm for a color appointment today at 2:15 pm. I’ve had my hair done at NuDu on several occasions with 3 different stylist through the years. My last stylist is no longer there so I asked for first available for a color. There were two ladies at the front, one scheduling and the other one listening. I was told a 2:15 appointment was available & the cost would be around $100. She told me she would need a card to schedule my appointment. Confused I asked what card?
They have a 24 hour cancellation policy and would charge my card half the cost for a no show. I replied I’m already past my 24 hrs, so I need to show. I confirmed my 2:15 pm appointment, left the salon and walked in my door and wrote 2:15 pm Hair on a box (see below) to confirm my appointment today.
I arrived today, only to be told my appointment was at 12:15 pm ….news to me. I was told they called me, but I did not answer. I was unavailable at 12:15 today. I had a prior appointment and did not have my phone turned on. I would not have scheduled a 12:15 appointment today, due to my prior commitment. I would never question the intelligence of the front desk, I am very service conscious, yet the manager/owner (whom I have supported and recommended the salon to friends) informed me that the front desk is intelligent and she believed her, and I would be charged $50 for a no show. But I was there at 2:15 . Instead asked to leave, charged $50, and my hair not done. The last thing I needed today was to be charged for a service not completed and lose privileges to a salon that I supported, even as stylist changed. Truly upset. I was completely under the impression my appointment was at 2:15 pm. I did not authorize $50 from a 12:15 appointment.

Nu Du Salon is the best in Long Beach hands down. They stay up to date on the latest and greatest in hair care - I leave with so much knowledge I feel like I attended a Ted Talk. Meredith the owner knows all her clients personally and exactly what products and care you need based on your hair type and life style. I go in for highlights and my hair always feels bouncy, soft, and full of life when we're done. Thanks for saving my hair Nu Du!

Rach is amazing! I never know the right words to say to describe the type of haircut I want but Rach was able to piece together my jumbled words and hand motions and the results were exactly what imagined. Rach checked in about my preferences throughout the appointment and was so patient. Love.

I had a great experience at Nu Du Salon. The salon is clean and lovely, and the staff is so friendly. My hair stylist, Anastasia was wonderful. We had the nicest conversation and I’m so happy with the way my hair turned out. She’s very talented and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a hair stylist!

Anastasia was wonderful! I came in for a trim and a moisturizing treatment, but Anastasia also took time to show me how to style my wavy hair and made sure everything was perfect before I left. Definitely recommend this salon!

Friendly staff and a good vibe all around. I am about an hour away but the drive is worth it! I love the way Rach styles and cuts my curly hair. It is easy to get the look I want with no judgement - even if it is a little unconventional.
