My 2 daughters have been going here for a few months. They love it. Master Brian is top notch and his instructors are awesome. Professional environment all the way around. My kids wanted kicking pads to practice at home, they love it so much. I see a long future for my kids at Schrades.

We’ve been a part of the Schrade’s Taekwondo Family for 3 & 1/2 years now. My son started when he was 4 yrs old. Since last year we’ve been traveling with the Sparring Team for competitions. It’s been a great experience. This is an excellent Dojo. Master Brian & his assistants are excellent with all the kids. My son has fallen in love with Taekwondo & wants to achieve his 4th degree black belt rank just as Master Brian has. Now that they also offer a Jiu-Jitsu class there, he’s found a new obsession. Don’t hesitate, sign your kids up...They’ll LOVE IT!!! 😍

Been going to Schrades for almost 3 years. All the staff take great care to build up children of all abilities and needs. I stay for every lesson, as do most of the parents, and have always seen professional, caring behavior and they teach the children to the highest caliber. Couldn't recommend more highly.

I will be sincere to you,I only have been here ones. And I am impressed. Because I have a martial arts background and I am sick and tired of a wimps, that " teaching" to other future "wimps" how to survive. This is different place-it has structure,it has reference to tradition of origin of martial art they teach. There is no commercial games, no subscription fees. Helpers are very respectful to the Master ( believe me you can't fake this!),wich makes great projection to the children. My son just quit this funny karate " kindergarten " at Antonelli, where for sure " the owner is so nice!!",but there is no training, no conditioning,no learning at all. Here each child gets personal attention, personal " movement cleaning "- this is absolutely awesome, I did not see it in many places in USA, unfortunately . Only in Russia and Europe.
Children have to learn to obey,to be disciplined,to be commanded. I think,we found good place for it. Can't wait to come back.

UPDATE: As expected, Brian Sargent posts (a) reviews on his own business and (b) retaliatory reviews on other people's businesses when he gets a negative review.

This guy says I have "been there for 2 years and you've been nothing but a problem"...funny, he didn't think so when he could come to my house and do unlicensed electrical and A/C work. Nor did he think so when I would pay for six months at a time without taking his discount. This guy is a Major League tool.

It took a while, but Brian Sargent finally lived up to his reputation. Usually, a business owner tries to reach out in a constructive and/or apologetic way no matter what when an issue arises; most of us adopt the “customer is always right” approach. That is not the case at Schrade’s Taekwondo.

I recently took exception to Sargent telling my son “I am not ASKING you to do it this way, I am COMMANDING you” in front of his classmates. If I don’t speak that way to my son, neither will Master Sargent. My son was very upset and discouraged when he left class that day. We pay for him to learn Taekwondo; not be berated. I sent Sargent an email with that and other observations about this ‘school’.

Blinded by rage, he failed to actually read the email and comprehend the issue at hand. Instead, in violation of 4 of the 5 Tenets of Taekwondo, I have now received four (4) different aggressive responses via voice mail, text and email; including “I don’t need you in my gym”, “I don’t like your opinion”, “I don’t need you for a boss”, “I’m glad you are gone” and “Why don’t you make me a steak” (yep, you read right). Instead of apologizing for his needlessly aggressive language towards my son, he says I am “difficult” and thinks I care about him taking a vacation and that I question his ability to teach; neither are the case.

Sorry to see Kendal’s experience with Sargent last week. About her observation “How can he teach respect, control and being level headed when he can’t practice what he preaches?!”…she is dead on. I don’t doubt Kendal’s claim one bit. Sargent has proven to be a hothead who violates the Tenets of Taekwondo whenever he gets upset (this is not the first time with me).

Before we ever started here, we were warned about the school often being run by young black belts when Sargent is absent; turns out they were right.

We will not be returning and we do not recommend this school.
