I have been seeing Dr. Suzanne Westphal for the last 10 years and I am so grateful for her expertise. She is incredibly attentive and always takes the time to explain every part of my treatment. I never feel rushed during my visits. She has found multiple pre cancerous issues on my face and has been very proactive in treatments.
I would highly recommend the Blue Light Therapy.
The office staff is friendly and efficient, and I always feel comfortable coming here.
I highly recommend Dr Suzanne Westphal and all the doctors at Southern Marin Dermatology.

I have been a patient of Dr. Smith for seven years. We used to live in Marin and moved four years ago to the East Bay and I now drive over an hour each way to see her because she is simply the best! I come from a family of doctors so I am very particular about who I see and she is top notch with both general dermatology and cosmetic procedures. I highly recommend her, and once you go once, you won't leave. Several of my friends are now her patients and they say the exact same thing. On top of her superb skills, she is so warm, and caring; and her staff is as well.

I have been a patient of Dr Ashley Smith when she was practicing in Sebastopol and followed her to Sausalito. You couldn't ask for a more caring and knowledgeable dermatologist. Her staff is considerate and efficient. The premises are clean,tidy and the million dollar veiw through the one way glass makes you forget you are at a doctor's appointment.

Dr. Smith is superb doctor with impeccable skills! She has treated me for both basal cell an melanoma skin cancer. She always listens to my concerns and is compassionate and caring. I drive 2 hours from the Central Valley to see her. Wouldn’t go anywhere else! Great staff too! Thanks Dr Smith and the SMD staff!

The Southern Marin Dermatology staff went above and beyond to assist me. Elizabeth Novak is one of the best medical professionals I’ve met with to date. She’s kind, incredibly well-informed on treatments, gave thorough explanations, and took time to answer all of my questions. Elizabeth and Shawna resolved a particularly challenging insurance situation on my end with grace and professionalism. They kept me up to date with each change and made sure I received the treatment I needed. All of the front desk staff and assistants are warm and responsive. Easily the best experience I’ve ever had with a medical office. I’m so grateful to all of Southern Marin Dermatology for their care and service during my process.

The medical service is excellent, but I had a bad customer service experience. They were running 30+ minutes late so I left. I called the next day to try to make an appointment to rebook because it was a time sensitive procedure and left a message explaining what had happened. No one ever followed up with me. Taking my business elsewhere. Plenty of great derms around.

SMD is a haven for all things skin. My ENTIRE family goes there (Dr. Smith & Dr. Westphal) for various needs and all are 100% satisfied. They don't push things on you - SMD's goal is clear - make their patients feel happy and comfortable in their own skin. They are on top of any issues that arise and very responsive if any questions/concerns come up. I've been to several other reputable derms/cosmetic providers in Marin and San Francisco and this is by far the best. 5 stars and beyond!
