Online always has people available, but after you pay they call you and say it was a mistake. Wait for the refund after….

3 times I have been cancelled on by them like this. Today the 4th time I decided to call before paying and what a surprise their online booking is not accurate and all their barbers want to leave early on a Friday.

Do not understand why you have an online booking if the availability is never accurate.

Do not go to Junior for a haircut, he is never available, online will say available and he will of course accept the online payment……
and when he is available everything is rushed. Cut my neck and ear. Very rough.

Shawn is probably the best barber here when he is not rushed or distracted, which happens very often.

Barbers do not listen to your exact style and they only cut hair they way they know how. They pretend to understand your style and then proceed to do a completely different basic style.
I have tried all barbers and no one can do a straight fade, always crooked.
Hard to find good barbers in SLO, this barbershop they are used to constant flow of work due to Cal Poly and cannot create a real customer base. If the college was not here most of the barbers would not even have a job.
Sad to see such low quality work be fed by Cal Poly students

Was a long time customer here and accepted a mediocre hair cut each time due to living so close to the barber shop. After years of this treatment and no real customer relationship with these barbers. I would say Shawn needs to find better more responsible barbers. Probably won’t happen and they will be fed work through the college students…..

One of the Worst experiences...

I have resided in Phx, Sacramento, Raleigh and SLO, this haircut shop has disgusting workmanship. Hairs at the side aren't cut thoroughly after taking 45mins!

Jr. charged me $35 and a tip on top of it, paid $40.
A Normal haircut with insane price and too slow (45 mins for a normal haircut! ).

Walkin wait time was 30mins as expected.
Beware of extraneous prices.

My son and I are here visiting my sister earlier my brother in-law took my son to get a hair cut he’s a shy kid and was not clear on what he wanted he comes home and immediately notice all the wrongs on his head! I googled one place and I thought that is where we walked into me not knowing the area around here as we come from Sacramento I tell a gentleman we have an appointment with a specific barber and he tells me no one by that name works there but we were more than welcome to stay it wouldn’t be too long I’m so glad we did! I did not catch the nice gentleman’s name who immediately understood my 10 year olds needs his vibe was so inviting my son had no problem explaining to him what he wanted not only that but he treated him on the house I didn’t have cash on me to tip him but we left and came back to do so but he refused it my son came back shocked of his kind gesture Thank You for making this visit a highlight to him! And for running such an inviting sharp barber shop!

To qualify this, I am somewhat nomadic and usually get my hair cut at a different place every time. I tell people what I want and show a couple photos, but am pretty easy going. Sometimes I like the cut I get more, other times less, but generally I am not too picky and will not leave reviews even when I am not thrilled with how it ended up.

This time it was completely off and different from what I said, with the top way too short and much shorter than what my barber, Jay, showed me with his fingers. He clearly became overzealous with the cutting process since it ended up maybe 1.5x shorter than discussed. He operated in a very rushed way, and gave me numerous knicks that were bleeding with a straight razor, including a couple small cuts of the style that may leave a scar for weeks.

He somehow operated both faster and slower than most other barbers I have been to. Not sure how that happened.

I still left a tip, but regret doing so, especially since I had ATM fees since he would only take fiat cash or check.

In this world Nobody's Perfect. I never forget to double check my clients hair for Precision, Accuracy, Quality, and Client Desired Style for both male and female clients of all ages. As I am dual licensed Barber&Cosmetologist . If anyone does not like the way services are being performed please communicate. At the beginning, duration of, or at the end of your service the mirror is in your hand just communicate.
