I’ve been seeing Amanda for 2 years now. This last year, I was pregnant and had a newborn so it’s been 10 months since I had my hair colored by her. The grow out has been beautiful. I’ve been getting blonde highlights for half my life and have always had somewhat of a grow out line, even if it was blended or softened. Somehow, when Amanda does my hair, I don’t have any line at all. In the 10 months since I last saw her, I’ve gone to other stylists (closer to my house) for blowouts. They consistently compliment the color and can’t believe how long it’s been. Can’t recommend her enough. I also drive an hour each way to see her! That should tell you all you need to know in LA!!

I've been getting my hair colored by Amanda at Summer Hours since they opened! My hair has never been healthier and I get compliments on my color for months and months after my appointments. Amanda is a true professional at her craft and it is obvious she continues to hone her skill to offer her clients the best of the best!

The salon itself is so cute, clean, and not chaotic at all (like so many other salons around LA). Street parking is a breeze although I recommend arriving early on street cleaning days, duh.

I’m hesitant to write this review but I don’t want this to happen to anyone else. I was recommended this salon by a friend and booked an appointment with Ashley. I asked for a small trim and darker color. I’ve been coloring my hair on and off for years and have never had any issues. My hair was the healthiest it had ever been prior to the appointment and I genuinely liked the color she did for me. But one day after the appointment, my hair started breaking off and coming out at the root in clumps. I contacted Ashley to find out about the treatment and dye she used. She offered for me to come in for an additional treatment. When I told her I didn’t feel comfortable with that as my hair was still rapidly falling out, I asked for some kind of compensation. She responded that she had completed an investigation and was not responsible for the issue… I’ve since been to my dermatologist who 100% confirmed the treatment or dye caused the hair trauma and thought the dye was left on for too long. She created a TikTok while I sat with the dye on my head in the salon. On top of this, at the end of my appointment Ashley asked if I had Venmo and then requested that I pay for the entire appointment in cash. Overall, I’m so dissatisfied with my appointment, the customer service, and my hair is still falling out weeks later. I’m sure the other stylists at the salon are great but do not book an appointment with Ashley.

Rebecca did a knockout job on my cut and color. She took me back to my more natural color so I can give my postpartum hair a break from dying and did a dry cut that brought back life to my hair. Salon was cozy and welcoming. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great salon that feels like home.

I love Summer Hours!! I personally have seen Amanda and Ash, they are wonderful! My husband recently got a cut from Darla- he has long curly hair and she did a great job. The salon is cozy and airy, and there is an outdoor space to relax in as well! 10/10 recommend ☺️

Ash is such a brilliant colorist. He is so meticulous about his craft. I did platinum color correction and it's perfect, exactly what I wanted. I highly recommend him.
