I have known Chante for at least 8 years now. I’ve seen her grow as a stylist and business owner. The reason why I have been seeing her for so long is because she is very honest about the services you should get for your hair. If you have a certain goal for your hair and cannot be completed in one session, she will tell you straight up on how she can help you achieve it. She’s not afraid to voice out her opinion about what would look good on you. This made me trust her way more when it comes to my hair.

The Alchemist Salon is the place to be! I have met most of the stylists and they are all amazing! You got Carly, Sheila and Ruben. They all have amazing personalities and I have seen some of their work watching from Chante’s chair. Every body definitely knows how to color hair (hence the name Alchemist) and very good at haircuts, hair styling, and hair extensions. They also help each other out (even if it’s not their own clients) so the client can get the best options for their hair. Definitely book for a consultation to see what they can do for your hair.

I’ve been coming to the Alchemist for YEARS! When I first moved to LA it was super difficult to find the right stylist, I had a few terrible experiences that led me here in a desperate attempt to just find my person. Chante was my first positive salon experience and I’ve never considered anyone or anywhere else!! I’ve had such a hair evolution with her from long blonde hair and bangs, neon yellow fringe, a pink bob, and the Princess Diana™️. Obviously LOTS of range and talent here.

Everyone here is so warm and kind, the ambiance is amazing, and her new space is so roomy and cozy. She always has refreshments, coffee, a great music too. I will always, always recommend The Alchemist! If you’re thinking about it, just do it <3

I was in town for a wedding and wanted a blowout. Madison did a fantastic job. I got so many compliments and my hair looked beautiful for both rehearsal dinner and the wedding. I highly recommend. Also the salon is really cute

Chante is not only the best hairdresser I have ever had the pleasure to receive services from, but the vibe of her salon is so welcoming, friendly, and chic. I have gone to many expensive hair salons and spent premium prices on my blonde. But Chante charges reasonable prices for better services! Truly a dream come true!
I recommend her to anyone looking for a master at blondes! (She's great for other colors and services too, but I can only speak to my experience as a blonde).
Ruben, her assistant, is also great and talented. I live in Santa Monica and drive out to Chante every 6-8 weeks because there is truly no better place in Los Angeles. She also thoroughly researches her products and only uses the best. My hair is blonder and healthier than ever before (crazy you can have both!)
Anyway, if you know what's good for you, check her out... I promise you'll be as blown away as I am!

The alchemist salon is incredibly well designed. Chante has been my hairstylist for 6 years and has completely transformed my hair. She is a master colorist and my haircuts are always on point. She is such an amazing human! Everyone should go to the alchemist salon you won’t regret it!!

I had my most recent visit to Alchemist Salon with Ruben, and I couldn’t be happier! I came in wanting something new and had made an appointment to have my hair completely dyed as I am at a stage in my life where I want to transform. I wanted my hair to be new and edgey to match how I have been feeling lately. I wasn’t picky about the color, and let Ruben have full creative control. My only request was “do not cut it short!”. Not only did Ruben bring my sad, overgrown dishwater blonde hair which sadly contains more grays than I’d like to admit, to a dark but vibrant plum/purple, but he absolutely had me leaving an almost literal new person.

I have never changed my hair so drastically and I regret not doing so sooner. I ended up with purple hair, a soft bob, and requested microbangs.💕

I literally am so in love with my new look, I made a spontaneous flight booking to Las Vegas to see how much trouble I can get into on my 29th birthday.

Aside from my hair, The salon atmosphere was great, and Ruben’s attention to detail made all the difference. I left feeling like my best self. Definitely ask for Ruben if you’re thinking about a color change or just want to try something new!

Went in for a haircut and a toner. The haircut is great but the toner is too dark and not what I wanted or asked for. Texted the salon and the only solution they offered is basically “it’ll wash out and then you’ll like it”. Disappointing after spending over $200 but hey- I guess it'll wash out and then I’ll like it! I won’t be returning, and definitely watch out if you haven’t been here before since they don’t seem to care much for their client satisfaction.

EDIT: Super fascinating how thorough and kind the reply was once my complaint was taken public. That must be the way to communicate with them. Still no financial compensation for the issue they caused and can’t fix, only solution is “wash your hair a lot until it rinses out” ok will do! This shouldn’t be anyone’s hair experience.
