I've been going to Yates Barber Shop for more than 20 years. Mr. Upton and his employees are always welcoming and provide a great atmosphere. Mr. Upton has been cutting my hair from the first time I went there and I will continue to seek him out. He and his other barbers do a great job with everyone that walks through their door! I totally recommend the shop.

33 years ago, this was the first place I visited in Orlando for a haircut. It was on a different location and with a different owner. I moved out of the area for many years, and just a few years ago, I went back and met Barbara. Men, she is good. She listens and is very consistent. You get a good old hair cut for a great price and no complications. I think there is a military discount if I'm not mistaken, and many military guys and some gals get their hair cut there. A few years gone bye and I back every statement here today on March, 2023. Simple and clean. Live is great.

A small town barber shop in the city! Tommy and the staff are fantastic. No music or loud talking. No frills, just agood haircut at a fair price. There are bilingual barbers to take care of clients.

You know how when you get to a new town you keep trying barbershops till you find that perfect one you stick with. This ones mine here. Barber very skilled and comfortable with his skill. Homely decorated place, very nice and kind customer service, and great price.
And as other reviewers mentioned, real professional methods of cutting, and attention to small details of comfort other barbers don't bother with usually.

This is an old school barber shop, walk-in with little wait time usually. Very economical, if you want to spend more for a haircut just leave a larger tip.
Barbara is good and currently off on Thursday and Friday.

I’ve been going to get my hair cut at Yates since I was 8 years old. I knew the original building on Goldenrod. I can honestly say since 1988, those wonderful people are like family. Tommy, Joe, Barbara, and Cookie have cut my hair, my younger brothers, and my mothers. From flat tops, to fades, to styling my moms hair, I’ve never had any complaints. Tommy is amazing with a straight razor. Stop in and check them out!!

Read the reviews and decided to give them a shot. Absolutely love my haircut! Barbara worked on my hair and not only was she very friendly but also very efficient. I have curly hair and lots of stylists have a hard time working on it. Been in Orlando for almost a year and others have messed up my hair every single time. I would definitely go there again.
